FOSTERING BENEFITS

YOU DON’T HAVE TO MAKE A LONG TERM COMMITMENT

If you are unsure of how long you are planning to be in the UAE then fostering is the ideal option for you. Been around animals has a fantastic therapeutic effect in our life and fostering offers you the same but without the lifetime commitment.

IT’S GOOD FOR YOUR KIDS

Research has shown that caring for pets has a beneficial effect on children’s development and intellect. They also see you setting a good example as a role model. It becomes a talking topic at school encouraging other families to do the same.  Your kids will grow up to be caring responsible adults.

YOUR  ARE DOING YOUR BIT FOR THE COMMUNITY & THE ENVIRONMENT

By fostering homeless pets you will become part of the solution. You will come to know the pet your are fostering personality and suitability for their best home option based on your comments to us .By fostering, more unwanted animals get adopted decreasing the animal trading demand from breeding mills . Less innocent animals will be euthanized for lack of homes.

SO WHAT ARE THE DISADVANTAGES TO FOSTERING?

Having animals around has a fantastic therapeutic effect in our life. The only disadvantage is that , you might fall in love and decide to add him/her as a new family member.

If this will be  the case you will have priority on adopting  that pet. Some animals are traumatized these animals need lots of love and patience so it can be a little bit of a challenge!

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

If you are directly fostering under The Animal Project , we will cover for any medical cost.  Even if you wish to cover the cost , hold on to the receipt so the new guardian will reimburse you the exact amount during the adoption time. As we have our associate clinic the fostered pet will have to go to those clinics if you arrange treatment in another clinic we will not be able to reimburse you the cost.

If  you are fostering a pet under your own initiative , we can provide you with discounted rates from our associate vets . Keep the receipts so the new guardian will reimburse  you the cost during the  adoption process .

Unfortunately, The Animal Project can’t pay for food, bedding, toys or any other accessories.

HOW LONG WILL THE ANIMAL BE WITH ME?

It is hard to say . For some pets a few days, for others weeks or months.  You could however design your own fostering periods . Choosing from a short or long term pet for fostering  (kittens are easier and faster to home),making the experience very positive .
